Chica Bonita - Manly

I was invited out to dinner at Manly on a chilly evening. I got told that we would be trying out this Mexican place and I was super excited. We parked the car near Shelly Beach and we walked along the oceanside toward Manly Beach. The sounds and smell of the ocean were refreshing. After our walk we headed to Chica Bonita.

While most of Manly seemed quiet and deserted, the restaurant was a buzz. Contemporary music was playing and we managed to acquire two seats in the packed-out place. We were given a large jug of water and a view of the bar where many great cocktails were being fancily made. Unfortunately, I drove so I did not indulge into the drinks, much to my dismay. The restaurant was dimmed but lit-to-theme with lots of brightly-coloured lighting. The place was well-heated to compensate for the frosty Manly evening temperature.

We were promptly served after taking a good look at the menu, and I was recommended the Carne Fries. I was not disappointed. The food was prepared quickly and it looked absolutely delicious. Carne Fries encompassed fries topped with grilled steak, cheese, guacamole and salsa. And yes. It tasted just as good as it sounds. 

I would recommend anyone who is visiting Manly and loves a good Mexican meal to check out Chica Bonita. The atmosphere and value-for-money makes for a great night out.
