Glenorie Bakery

Hey there everyone!

Bella here with another review for you to sink your teeth into. Today I am having a look at the Glenorie Bakery which is in… you guessed it… Glenorie! The Glenorie bakery is a little bakery which serves light meals, incredible pies, sweet treats, freshly baked bread and all your normal café drinks. Emily and I went there for a snack and to try it out as we have heard some fantastic things about it.

The shop itself is substantial in size with seating both inside and outside which is great if it’s a hot day and you don’t want to be sitting inside a hot bakery or if it’s a cold day then the warmth from the bakery is fantastic inside. The bakery has a rustic feel with wooden benches and counters as well as mix matched antique furniture whilst simultaneously feeling modern. This translates into the food they have available as the pies are very rustic looking however the sweet treats are incredibly fancy and modern.

Emily decided to go for a steak pie. Now let me tell you this pie was to die for. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to pies is that they don’t use real meat in pies or there just isn’t enough in it but let me assure you this pie was fantastic it had generous chunks of steak throughout and a beautiful nostalgic flavour. I would definitely recommend the pies at Glenorie bakery, they have heaps of flavours as well as ones that are unbaked that you can take home and pop in the oven when you feel like one! This pie would get a 9.5/10

I decided to go for something a little bit sweeter hence I ended up with this fruit cake which ended up not being very much like a cake at all! It was similar to a coconut panna cotta or a mousse with an orange insert in the middle and a biscuit crumb base. The creaminess of the coconut part was excellently balanced with the tanginess of the citrus part and the crunchiness of the biscuit base. Not my favourite dessert I have eaten but it was still a lovely afternoon snack, 7/10.

So, there we have it! Glenorie bakery, it is a cute little bakery to go for a coffee and a pie although it is a little out of the way. If you ever find yourself in need of a good pie go and check it out!
